  • ‘The formative process in and through teaching, learning and governance that emphasises the awareness of God’s active presence in human life in positive and life affirming ways.

  • Students are called to do their very best in society and to always strive for personal excellence in all aspects of life – intellectual, emotional, moral and physical. This personal excellence leads to concern for the betterment of society.

  • ‘Striving for more’ is understood in terms of the quality of education, the excellence in education and the access and the inclusiveness to this education it gives to the poor.
  • Constantly searching for more in the creation of biological knowledge, the quality of biological knowledge, application of biological knowledge, and access to biological knowledge for the betterment of society.
History:

The Department of Botany was founded in May 2018 with the goal of preparing students to become future botanists by engaging them in biological research, and practicing various areas of plant science. The undergraduate program began with 22 students. Later, the department trains a vast number of students through the work of renowned researchers and teachers. The department provides a high level of laboratory facilities and a library to help students improve their practical and research efficiency.
